Your idea is a just the ticket, Pat_B. Did you know they are looking for candidates to run in the elections down there?

Yes it was sad Pat, one thing she never knew. People are funny in a way, they know this sort of thing is going to happen one day. I don't want to keep going back in time, but when the war started everyone was delivered a small unit which was sunk into the ground and presumably one kept a few provisions for emergencies. They were made in metal those days, have to be tested first of course which should not be too difficult, I don't know if anything would stand up to a direct hit from something as ferocious as a tornado, but neither would have our shelters with a direct hit. Saved the lives of many though. Your idea of course, gosh and giving the out of work men something to do, a proud job.

Pat

When I looked at pictures of all that terrible destruction, I noticed that that many homes in that area don't seem to have basements. I did a bit of checking, and found that, according to the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) there has been a marked drop in the construction of houses with basements nationwide. Since a basement offers at least some protection, I'd be sure to have one if I lived anywhere around 'Tornado Alley'...

The Bunkers are a great idea and i believe that you can buy them

a tornadoe/Hurricane safe strong room. Poor little baby Angel, I just heard on the news that she had terrible head Injuries. Perhaps she is meant to be the angel that she was named.
