Great post....I can just see you.....and I well know the feeling of the fingers jamming between those keys when you type too fast.  I learned to type on an old Remington and my first secretarial job was on a manual.  I have one in my basement in KC....can't remember what brand it is but it's bolted to an old metal stand so it won't jump off.....actually, I have a collection of typewriters.....different story.....anyway, thanks for taking us with you down memory lane - it's always a great trip.

of the movement you were reporting its heart so to say. I could read more and more and perhaps some essays on your views would be interesting to red, even for say Australian papers.....ps. I do always write hoping that you enjoy my post....everything is for my friends dear one.

Interesting time of life for you and for us to read about. My older brother Terry used to carry Remington typewriters to sell and he made all his calls in those days using the Montréal Tramway streetcars. He did very well at that and then moved on to selling business forms for Moore. If TJ was still alive I'd tell him all about my friend PatB and her days using a Remington in the park.

I like the small weekly newspapers. Not so much drama. I can picture a young girl lying on the grass in a park in front of her typewriter, her imagination having a field day. Nice post, Pat_B.

Also very interesting to read about.  I never even dreamed about writing for a newspaper.  I always thought I'd write a book someday, but someday never came.
