What an interesting post topic!  Since I live in different areas throughout the year, i have the experience of staying current on various economic areas (Naut would know the proper term sociologists would use) and it's fascinating to watch how alike - and different - we are, depending on the socio-economic...and cultural...make-up of the area.  I have seen "boutique" grocery stores that attract match-seeking  types and the activities are very entertaining....live music is not a new idea, and I'm sure it will spread past the boutique.  Only problem is....the cost will spread, too!!!

I keep hoping to be in the produce section of my market one day when a group of professionals start singing opera over the zucchini and rutabaga.  That would thrill me.

Thanks for the mention luv and that's a good thought about unemployment over the coupons. Well, let's start a coupon fund that gets distributed to the unemployed. Love your thoughts on the grocery story being great for pick-ups. LOL

I have been shopping at the supermarket for years, although I (snobbishly, LOL) prefer the smaller specialty stores. And I make a point of getting to know some of the managers. A couple of months ago I suggested they stock mirin, to save myself the trip to a Japanese store in Toronto - now they have it!

Oh, and whatever you read in Tidbits above the by-line is always the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, as far as that can be determined. What you read below the by-line never is...
