Human nature explains it...
When someone discovers some marvelous thing that enables them to turn their life around, that opens their eyes to wonders and awareness... that person is likely to point to the exact bit of truth that made it all click for them, and say, "This saved me!" and go on to tell others, "This can save you, too!" As the apostles did, after their most direct guidance was no longer so directly available: each taught and evangelized and promoted whatever aspect of the teachings of Jesus (or Yeshua. if you prefer) that had spoken the most forcefully to him or her.
They/we are still doing it.
