Nice will always out weigh mean for me, too! My daughter is in the service industry and she would rather do things similar to you than get into a confrontational exchange because no one wins in that scenario! I thought he was a moron for patronizing you when you asked him to repeat the order but I liked how you handled him! sam

You have a way with people. It's great to read of someone like that.

Ha! Awesome!

The old Kill em with Kindness trick with a quick right jab, so to speak -- you are poetry in motion, Bel! Good work and great reading you again!

Maybe the scent of the coffee just sets off the good vibes.

The right attitude makes any job less work and more fun.

You are absolutely right.  As a teacher, the students as your customer would get placed in my classroom as though I was the only teacher to handle those with behavior problems.  I did as you and did well.  I enjoyed my job!

Some students would ask "why do you smile all the time and never raise your voice?" I knew they understood without me straining my vocal cords.  On the other hand one day, I took a book, slammed it on the desk, told the students they seemed to know more that the writers of the book and me.  Since they were in 7th grade, explain yourself?  I had no further problems with that group!!

Bel

You're so right - it makes such a difference when people are friendly towards one another! I always like to kid around a bit with people who serve me, and usually get excellent service as a result...
