Being as your answer has left me just as confused as before, ..............

North Korea, The United Kingdom, and us the U.S. don't appear to have much in common, but for large numbers of their respective populations being dissatisfied with those who make governmental decisions regarding their lives, laws and treasure.
I get it, that the original terminology came from the brutish British peculiar system of "House of Commons" and their counterpoint "House of the Lords," (uncommoners) aisles, but I think that however one sees things, depends upon their personal perspective, left/right, forward/backward, inside/outside, downside/upside, whatever, but definition of terminology and viewpoint is of paramount importance, before going forward.
You will probably agree that such distinctions, are fodder for interminal discussions, but very little will ever get resolved between opposing points of view. Let's just agree to disagree, without getting disagreeable, because it would be surprising if either one of us were ever able to persuade the other, to see things differently.

Left and Right came from...
the sides the parties sat in in the English Parliment....
The correct graphic would be based on "Degree of Government Control" without consideration for any other social or political variable, and thus places "Fascism" (totalitarianism) at one extreme and "Anarchy" (no government at all) at the other extreme.
A Fascist and a Communist are one and the same because they represent maximum govermental control......

Don't North Korea and most modern day dictatorships, lean a bit to the RIGHT of even Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, & Hitler?
Maybe I've been calling these political divisions of ideology by the wrong labels, looking at them from the inside of the looking glass (so to speak) all of these years, and now I going to learn that I'm one of those hateful REPUG..........AHHHHHH, NO, NO, NOOOOO!
