I know for a fact that I cannot stick to a routine for too many days!! I am an educator as you. It must be in the nature!!
I have attempted several times to write a book. I cannot stick to it. I was great with the dissertation. I think I need a structured environment to keep me motivated to complete a large project as a book!

I have a morning routine as well. Even though my work comes quite early--7AM with a half-hour commute--I don't like to just roll out of bed and head shell-shocked to work. I have my pot of coffee with my breakfast and work on my Norwegian translation. Then I quickly check my blogit account on the computer.

I threw out routine, along with my watch, when I retired at age 67. Neither was probably a good idea and I have not accomplished a whole lot since then, but I do love life.

I think it is good to change a routine up from time to time to avoid becoming stale! However, I have to do the crossword puzzle in the paper every morning or it feels too weird! sam
