I have been following this and it is very doubtful that we will all have pockets full of heavy coins to lug around in the near future...it is more likely that the dollar will fail, or at least be removed as the world currency...either would be devastating.

For sure the dollars would weigh a lot more (in the capacity of weight that is), I say stick to the note..

doesn't make sense right now to burden small business when the
country is hurting so much....we have a one dollar and a two dollar coin in both Canada and in Australia but they have been around for a long time now.

Well we had a change FS five pounds being the lowest paper money and they get pretty scruffy, but it would mean changing cash machines somewhat I imagine. You have some good mates, there are always one or two who know it all, they usually get knocked into shape.

It would be costly to change $1 bill to a coin. That is an unneeded cost.
