Re: Re: You don't have to be religious to recognized spirit.
Yes, they are distinct issues, 'religion' being essentially the packaging, and 'spirit' being the content.  A lot of folks have no use for religion but totally accept that there is a spiritual aspect of our selves and the universe; some, of course, have no use for either.  I suppose 'magic' and 'miracle' is in the same bundle as 'dumb luck,' as content that we see evidence for but can't sort out the mechanics of it.

Re: i am so sorry to read of the loss of a young family member like this
Yes, it was very difficult to lose my nephew at such a young age ( he had just gotten married too ). As far as an afterlife, I believe that "spiritual" places such as Heaven and Hell are nothing more than concepts. How you live, how you feel, how you treat others, and your state of mind at the moment of your death ( thinking positively or negatively ) will probably dictate what kind of afterlife your spirit might have. For example, anyone who exclaims "Ahh, don't waste your prayers on me! I'm going to Hell anyway!" probably is. Thanks for the response.

Re: You don't have to be religious to recognized spirit.
Thanks. I suppose sometimes "religion" and "spirituality" can be considered two separate issues. I don't necessarily believe in a "god" so to speak, but I sometimes think that there might be a force of some kind just beyond both our grasp and our imagination that we will never fully understand, that oversees and controls certain aspects of our existence. And I think that, at times, "dumb luck" may also fall under the same heading.

You don't have to be religious to recognized spirit.

In fact, sometimes it helps not to be.

Very glad you and yours came through safe--and the car, too!

A tough one to deal with and the car? There are so many things we don't know ...but as a nurse I have so many stories with no physical explanation nor scientific. One has to believe in an after life for the spirit.
