reasons, that's true....
And its law that with prescription meds, those warnings, including all the side effects, have to be read out loud...one minute you're being told about a new med for "whatever", but by the time they tell you all the side effects, you've changed your mind....

Kabu, yes, exactly....
Its just reached the point of being totally ridiculous (and the insurance companies know it, too, but, as you say, they have to cover their butts)....

Elyse..yes, these are all real....
I know they're mindboggling to say the least, but I guess to avoid any kind of liability issues, these warnings are necessary...they may be completely ludicrous, but still necessary....that icicle incident you had happen out in Maine reminds me of some of the huge icicles we had form around here last winter - I knocked them down to be on the safe side (didn't want our postal carrier to end up with a hole in her head some morning)...

Liability may be the reason for this nonsense, but they're funny. On the other hand, warnings on TV commercials for medications are nonsense, too, but not funny - they're ridiculously long.

Just shows how litigation has gone crazy and everyone has to cover their
derriere.

are these for real, Rumor?  but, I realize it is due to liability.

Years ago, when we had our private practice, and in our home --- the old country Doc stuff - well, it was in Rural Maine; during the winter there were icicles that formed during the long long winters there.  Now, you would imagine that folks from there would know about the danger of icicles --- well, they either didn't or they didn't think it could happen to them...however, there was a man whom came to our home and yes, there was an icicle break and well, suffice it say - "liability was good for us to have" and furthermore, I was never so glad to get back to Texas far away from the danger of falling icicles.   ~ I know the importance of covering your bum --- as I put the 'beware of dogs' sign up in my window before the Pizza guy trys to come in and the dogs go after the pizza (not him) but, he doesn't know that ---  ~ Elyse

sam, yes, that's when all the fuss over liability started....
And now we pay for it with warnings all over everything, plus higher insurance premiums...and its just as bad here in Canada as in the U.S.......

If folks would use their common sense none of this would be needed, but, alas it happens so the warning comes into vogue! I think a lot of this came about after the older woman spilled her 'hot' coffee on herself and was awarded an unreal dollar amount for her own foolishness! sam

FSI, it really is, and after working in insurance...
I think its because of the liability involved...but some of the warnings just seem so stupid.....

It's amazing all of the warnings we need.
