I found it odd that people considered the show to have jumped the shark because of that. The show was on for another seven seasons, and it seems that the fanbase was there the whole time.

Now if they advertised a scarecrow
on water skis to be towed by a pair of dolphins, that would be a reality show I'd watch.

There is new conjecture about Hatshepsut's relationship with her son
whose throne she apparently forgot to hand over when he came of age and her status as co-regent expired. The old version presumed that he hated her so much, he erased her name and symbols and face from all her monuments, to be sure of not meeting her in the Afterlife, what with her memory being forgotten.
