FSI, it sure sounds that way, or he was just lucky not to have crashed.

Re: I can't believe this.....and that too that his mother didn't know
Straightforward, ...incredible headline story this week! It took two police cars to stop him when he slowed- one police car in front and another in back. His mother was as suprised as everyone else. Let's hope she's more vigilant in the future.

GypsyB, this precocious kid had plenty of nerve, too! ...a determined dare devil, you might say.

Some kids are just really precocious. Remember the comic strip, Calvin & Hobbes(one of my favorites)? There are some boys who behave very much like Calvin.

Re:
Justi, there's no stepfather; the boy was home alone while his mother worked the night shift. Apparently she was not yet home early in the morning when the boy began his journey.

If he was home alone, why. If he was home with his step dad what was happening there. This is more than a little boy taking the car and embarking upon a lengthy trip.

Re: I think he may have done his learner driving on that trip...
Kabu, no doubt! He'll just have to wait a few years before he's licensed. And, yes, that mommy had a rude awakening to her son's need to see his daddy.

Re: well, they say cars practically drive themselves now...:)
Rumor, he was able to do it until someone saw this child at the wheel and called police.

I hope Mommy realized how much a little boy needs his Daddy.

well, they say cars practically drive themselves now...:)
between that and this kid's smarts, (cute though he was still in his pj's), it was probably doable...
