I have a very strong weakness for research (oxymoron fully intended, LOL), but I agree, this is ridiculous. On the other hand, the way budget allocations work, even if this money wasn't spent on providing a fitness facility for shrimps, it could probably still not be spent on Lake Superior silting problems...

Sam, so you know the fast changing moods of Lake S. Last year a minister with his son, a doctor, and his grandson, drowned - all because they had to leave the harbor in a small boat. Their larger craft could not go out into the big lake because of the sand.

I spent a lot of time on Lake Superior in my youth and it is about priorities! But it will come when it's far too late! sam

BC-A, true; or politicians aim for votes. Government funded $$$s for a snow-maker in Duluth, Minnesota where huge amounts of snow fall every winter.
