I'm doing it for the money. Nottttttt really - I don't know why I'm doing it this time - there used to be a lot of activity - seems a bit slow now.

I care if some people read my work
It doesn't bother me if many don't, but if after a day or two there are no comments, then...
I haven't been inclined to write much these days. When I do, it is mostly because Afzal gives me poems to post...so I'm kinda pressured a little. lol. That reminds me... I'm a day late posting already, better get on that.

Well said, Dear Sam. I wish you all the best with your work. I think legacy is important too; since my diagnosis of a serious illness, I am even more determined to shape one that is meaningful to loved ones.

Well Ray I don't really know, perhaps it is like playing a game one wonders who one has annoyed or made peace with. Perhaps it becomes a habit or more likely one becomes interested in other situations. Some folk one feels happy to write to because they seem friendly and are like a neighbor once one opens the Blogit door. I could not write however without some reaction and I do feel sad when I see some blogs that do not receive a comment. It must be quite painful to get no response.

I have a mission to complete my epic poem that I have been working on and posting and I am in my fourth year with less than a month to completion! I have wondered if I would stay beyond that time for I just write for a legacy to my children and I don't need the motivation of a site like Blogit to complete the task. However, I did need Blogit for the epic because it served to keep me on task and daily! So we shall see what evolves! I think it's fine to write for whatever reason because in my humble opinion I believe the author should be satisfied first and foremost for they are the one grappling with it! sam

i do it
because i like to write, and because it helps me immensely get things off of my chest, and i really enjoy reading what others write. It also helps to hear another say, oh, maybe you should have worded it this way or that, and i do it for me. my life is and has been very erratic for well, just about forever. so, writing is my way of coping. it keeps me sane, it keeps me off of anti depressants, and helps a lot. i am also physically disabled and have been since about 2002, so it gives me something to do. sometimes it doesnt make any sense, sometimes it does. sometimes it makes others laugh, or cry or just say okay,,, she's whacked,,, it doesn't matter, i just enjoy writing.

Be starved for sure, lol.
I suppose alot of the motivation for posting one's work in a public forum is the discovery of the effect of your words on others plus the enjoyment of interacting with like minded souls. You also learn much by doing so and expound or improve your craft if so desired.
