Loved the rat trap. You're brother and I have a lot in common. Bad ticker, ex-mechanic on Heavy equipment/Aircraft/Printing equipment/electrician/plumber~Jack of all trades master of nothin' is me too. I'll be 75 in April and one of my brothers, Dan, will be 80 in April, so I figure you and Dan would be about the same age. My brother Joe is 86, ex army that served in Europe in th HLI. My brother Mike was killed flying in the RAF shot down over the Himalayas. Cheers old chap.

You really outdid yourself here ChCh --- I mean weathering the wintry conditions and carrying those beams??? --- Oh dear but, you have been a busy bee - and I know your Garden florals will appreciate but my dear One - please, be careful with all this master building you have in mind to do.  E.E.

Re: ChiffChaff
Well I thought the rat trap was was a nice finish Wily propping up a frame. My brother would have made a neat job of it, but his ticker is on the blink and he can't do much he was a mechanic used to do my car and every job from water to electric . I use a lot of plastic rope these days, we do get a lot of rough winds at times. I had to laugh when I had  finished it but it is more of an experiment and I will show you something I built last year which I am rather pleased with.

Well that there building is what ya call a prize alrighty. Wish I had been there to help you old chap. When I first saw it I kinda thought I could go and sleep in there if I put up a few pieces of carboard for walls. I slept in worse places when I was a drinkin' man. That rope holding down the plastic roof is an absolute stroke of engineering genius.I see a piece of pipe on the roof so ya must be planning indoor plumbing too.

Actually it's perfect for your plants my friend and I'm not sure I could even take on a project anymore. Might be my ticker or all the antibiotics I'm on but I'm just drained of energy. Perhaps after I get the stones out of my bladder at the end of the month I'll be able to get things done again. I'll come over and help you with that shed maybe after that.

Re:
Well it had stood the gale Sam, but I had a very red face when I finished one morning a wind tone or tan or something.

I was going to say it looks like it's ready for plants then I read your comment and I still conclude; time for planting! It will work! Too bad about the wind; I just can't stand working in the wind! sam

This is for Wiley to show him how a master builder  built this in two mornings. First I must explain, having spent a small fortune on Auriculas and fickle like decided I liked Pinks better. Well boys can change their minds can't they Wily. So I have got to have somewhere to put these plants in a shady spot through the Summer. I worked out it would cost perhaps goodness knows how much to buy a pre-made building. Then I thought use up anything lying around no one is worried about the structure. It was blowing half a gale when I started perhaps it took three mornings. I bundled together every thing I could use even an old wire rat trap. It may look a mess to the professional eye and it was more luck than judgement lifting the roofs on. I think this is my last building project I can modify it eventually. Yes I shall get criticism, but the plants will love it.
