Re:
Well E.E no markings but the glaze on the large one is brill, perhaps I'll keep them if were younger I might have got the handle repaired but it's not worth it for twenty years.

For that amount, I certainly think your SIL did good --- these are so precious and lovely and yes, it does make one wonder 'what were they thinking' when they just jigged up the restoration but, you never know who took care of this property before the once, proud owner.  This is a lovely duo, ChCh ~ E.E.

together they are a conversation piece...like when a lady friend pops in
and instead of you making inappropriate innuendos about her legs going up to her......you can discuss these jugs and wait for the kettle to boil.

Well as you can guess with limited funds my Sister had to scour a boot sale. The lady was trying to sell these two jugs this is  much better of the two which makes me wonder if they were made by the same people. The seller was a lady about  fifty or more and she said they were very old as they belonged to her great granny. Well as we know that means nothing I know a granny who is 33. So her great granny could be 50. Anyway she wanted 4pounds for each of them and my Sister never buys cracked unless very pretty just for a photo. Such a pity the handle has been broken and replaced not very professionally. So my Sister said she would have a look round first and the lady said two pounds each. Well they were cheap enough to photograph.
