What a wonderful and wise post; one to re-visit, re-read
and learn from anew..In my present, uncertain health situation, this is especially meaningful - embracing now...The photograph is beautiful and hypnotic too!..:) Thank you for sharing; think I will look for the book.

Sounds good
I do think that 'enjoying the now' has become much more of a mantra for me as I've got older

Love that picture!

That Tolle book sounds interesting, although the notion of fully experiencing or 'grasping' the 'Now' is as old as Parmenides, and can be found in Husserl (Phenomenology), Heidegger, Kurt Wolff ('Surrender and Catch') and many others, and is also apparently an important idea in Eastern mysticism, although I'm not very familiar with that...

And I'll send you an email via the Blogit messenger re the doggie booties...

I like this idea! It is a matter of habit, once we focus on reminding soon it will be a habit! sam

Sounds like an inspiring writer you are sharing with us...I remember when Oprah was promoting this work as well...I tend to forget that myself as well.

I haven't read the book, but I love the principle and practice it as often as I think about it.

It's kind of amazing when you move consciously through the world
isn't it? One good thing about this time of year, sunsets come early enough to really enjoy them, before it's time to start supper.

Yes, now that's what I'm talking about ~ taking it all in and realizing we're just a small speck here however, we've got all these gifts around us ~ I was suggested by one of my nephews, oh a couple of years ago to read this book.  and I also found that book and movie, Eat, Pray and Love good as well as Bambi ~ I do like the positive and the reflective and the time we all should take.  Thank you Ad ~ I'm smiling with you ~ Elyse

what a positive post...with the smiles and the living in the moment
you will work through the traumas that surround you. and we all love you here and that back ground noise is our cheering you on to make whatever decisions that you have to. Pat the doggies for me...they are the real wealth you go home to at night.
