I even gave up on local channels when I heard about the pet ferrets chewing off the fingers of the four-month old baby on the floor while the mother took a nap.  I am just sort of clicking quickly through the news titles on the internet and being very selective what I read.

Pat

Yep, I agree - I'm also tired of all that stuff, which is why I ain't watching it much.

But there is one question to be raised: What does the stuff they offer us say about us, collectively? Ultimately, the media's fare is determined by ratings...

You did the right thing. When the journalists begin to sound like magpies, push the off button. You don't want to be throwing things at the TV.

good choice I believe Pat ~ I am even tiring of the weather station that I watch sometimes for the reports they push in and the whole effect from the media and speculation and as you say, bad journalism.  I keep the TV on for noise mostly and I may find another means for it all (you would think I have enough noise with the pack of dogs, cats and well, you name it...there's always noise) ... Good post ~ Elyse

Hey the sky is falling

and keep in mind 2012 is just next year, the whole world is falling!  Remember Y2K?  People seem to get a twisted thrill out of the stupidly dramatic.

Hmmmm Mr. Rogers still reruns on PBS right?

Me too darling and I am tired to death of partial reporting where one side
only is given....I could write a half truth about anything but it is wrong...both sides need to be explored. Facts darling...we want facts.
