Ah yes, it's for the best - for betterment to self to forgive yourself.

I was struck by this line: Destruction of self is an infectious seduction in families so prone and her resistance wore down eventually.
yes, it is a seduction --- and as you say, until and even when the resistance is worn down, it can prove to be so damaging.

This is quite the revelation of many I think ..it always boils down to trial and error and the most hardest part is forgetting Raye..lovely.
