I did that to my TV cable box yesterday. Somehow it got stuck on one channel with the picture but the stations would change as far as the sound was concerned. The two would not work together until I killed the power for a while and let the cable box re-boot.

That's a good one. When my mobile broadband suddenly doesn't work,
or something goes strange on my laptop I turn it off and start it up again and usually it works fine so that's a good tip you've given there :)
