I love the line "....be only the slow fire of red flowers" and you positioned it right over the red flower of the previous post you clever chap.

what a great line, C.C. .... the entire poem has a quiet "positive" flavour to it, especially the last verse...and there's a hint of thinking back, which is never a bad thing: "I shall never discover what might have been apparent". - another great thought...
