I love the deer around as well, we live in the same kind of woodsy situation, and I'm happy your Christmas is coming together nicely luv.

We don't get much snow down here, but your description of that drive through the snowy night reminded me of occasions in Northern Ontario, where I sometimes drove in winter. I remember one occasion when I pulled off the road because I was getting tired. There was a bright Moon, and I remember the silence after I shut off the engine. And then I heard the wolves howl - it was magical...

We got snow in the valley today! Just enough to shovel! I loved how you described you way home, I could see it all! And, neither one of us is very happy about the results of today's hockey games! Detroit did manage to pick up a point but they stink in over time! UGH! I hope you had a great time decorating the tree! Christopher is finally at home, too! sam

I tend to avoid the radio stations that play nonstop Christmas music. Like you and Killroy I find it to be too much of a good thing.

Your ride home sounds absolutely marvelous.  I totally agree about virgin snow.  One can often find me outside in the middle of the night when the snow is falling and collecting.  Nothing like it.

Great post. Makes me happy to read it.
I'm beginning to feel a bit of the Christmas spirit, too. The little girls next door brought me wrapped gifts last night and insisted I open them. Flameless candles. "It's what we do at our house," the older one said. Wise mother, to give their children the glow without the danger. I got to ask them what they wanted. "Oh, any little book from Borders would be great," she said. And the younger one nodded. Clearly they expected the question. They are so cute!
