Catching up again....as you can tell from the late date!  I just backed out and wrote a poem for you....that's how passionate I am about my Kindle....yes, I appear to be the lone dissenting voice here, so I had to be mouthy about it!!  It's dedicated to you, sorry  but I can't remember how to do links...it's been too long....but, hopefully, people will find their way back here if they read my poem.

Well done!  I agree.  I haven't much desire to Kindle.  I'd rather cuddle with a book.
By the way, the love for the plum runs deep in my family.  My grandfather was Joseph Jelinek, kin of Rudolph Jelinek of Vizovice, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic) and master of the Slivovitz.

I have resisted for ages against these
But there is a certain thrill of having the book INSTANTLY!  I will always love hard copy books but the e-readers do have their advantages.

That's what I call a poem of arguments against - love it!
Haven't Kindled yet
Can't deny have been tempted
May fall into trap

Fabulous poem Naut!  I love books too... their smell, their touch... and like you I do believe they posess a soul.  My favorite thing in the world is to touch things that have belonged to people I admire and are no longer here.  I do believe some of their essense is left in what they touch, specially in those things they love,  like a favorite scarf...  a chair, a book even more so because their mind got lost in its words making them feel all kinds of emotions... Excellent work my talented friend,  xoxoxo

A wonderful post and I certainly will never have one of those contraptions in my life after my life in the printing industry. Well done my friend.

Ah Nautikos - my views exactly! The Kindle will be for emergency only - during power outages when I have once again neglected to store gasoline for the generator, and the candles are but stumps - far too dim to light the page of a favorite tome. Very profilic, my poetic friend; so very accurate!

I'm liking this poem a lot. You have a very unique style, a style that fits well with the theme of this poem.

Excellent! I knew the voice of the poem was going to opt for the book, he was rather harsh on the kindle that does not kindle, indeed! What an awesome poem Naut; I thought of different types it could be as far as reciting it goes! It has great merit and such a fine statement when considering the position and how it was defended! Love it! Love it! Love it! And I think Will Shakespeare would applaud.
Where would we be without his "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune?" We'd be stumbling around in our own clumsy footprints, that's where...  You just made my day!
