By the way, I think Cc wanted me to share a pic of UA? and best of my knowledge this may be what UA looked like...at least this is what I think he does now...

(hear tell, he's reading from his 'place of residence' he's been taken to...) But, again, this is 3rd party so you'd have to get the rundown from Cc himself...

Poor little people --- (we) get no respect!!! Seriously this is a great tale you tell and share with us, with many - Kabuski - you are indeed so knowledgeable of the little folks. Now suddenly, I'm starting to think of Christmas...
--- hmmm... or Father Christmas...

Kabu, so sad but true..there's always someone looking for
a quick fortune, and at the expense of others (at their mercy, if they had any)....times really haven't changed all that much in this regard, have they..

At least, the poor people could come out and made some income, though not in the right way. This has been fascinating from the beginning. It is something of a relief to me to know how these phenonmenon may really have happened; I have been curious and sort of plagued by this over the years, after seeing films about them and knowing it must be based on some truth somewhere.

This is so much fun. And as you tell the story, I can see the
characters take shape. As soon as you can, take a minute to back up your files. It would be a crying shame to have this all disappear into cyberspace.

Kabu
I can just imagine you in a rocking chair by the fireplace, with Mr G snuggled on your knee and Wiley in the other rocking chair listening rapturously to the tales you spin.

You have done some research love and this is a most fascinating post. I have never thought of hunchbacks that way, made me think of my mum with osteoporosis and the mining and stuffed hats. I think it's a marvelous post and the research has taken the thoughts of cute l'il knomes and turned them into real people to think about and feel sad over. I love you.
