If a person didn't want their mind stripped naked, it was tough. If a person could not justify their words, they were ripped apart.   joab

Joab, I like this poem.  I recall this from earlier (a year back or so) when you had started sharing some of your 58 Venice Beach poetry.  I loved it then and wow, do I so adore it more and more, because simply this is relatable --- the reader gets engaged and senses come alive because this breathes life --- this is WRITE ON cool ~ Elyse

Hey I hadn't finished Criticism  hurts but if this was 58 or whenever or whatever. It is not always the best that gets applauded, a lot of rubbish sometimes floats  and the sharks are fooled. Who really is to say what is better than something entirely different it needs a machine not a human brain. I like this anyway, it is thought provoking.

Then you understood the deliberate humiliation inflicted on the unwary believers who strayed too deep in unfamiliar waters.

O, those iambs can take one into bitter misery, even an unwelcomed lair! Wonderful poem, I could so relate! sam
