I guess I am a little odd in this
I love my pets and when it's their time, I am sad, but I also generally take that as part of the life process.  I believe he was cherished and loved.

To be honest I don't really feel sad at all... he lived a normal period for an octopus and had every comfort he could ask for except, perhaps, freedom

I believe everyone is dealing with their reaction and not how it affected them! There have even been a few jokes that were a bit tasteless, too! sam

I'm afraid that I had never heard of him before this, so I googled him and read about him.  I guess his time was up.  Do you think he knew it ahead of time?

I am not really sad but he was quite intriguing I must say. Maybe because I don't know it personally. Thanks for the visit.

This rings close to my heart.  My step son in fact had an octupus - and it was so lovely - so dear, a very friendly, as 'pet' and adored.  His demise was sad and so, I felt a tug for the Octupus Paul -  ~ Elyse

Well Ms Straightforward I suppose one could feel sorry for all plural Octopussies I expect it is pie or something perhaps this little chappy was unlucky getting it right each time. If he had got it wrong life might have been easier, but how was he to know.
