very strikingly surreal in its mood and atmosphere...one is left to imagine what "could" have happened if the drifter had driven off in his condition.....well said!.....

The clarity of the poem is superb!  It is no mean feat to keep the scene so vivid whiole maintaining such a demanding rhyme scheme, well done!
