3rd world
Berlin wouldn't qualify, but I found it bewildering all the same - the language, the politics (back when it was still East and West), and helping my American exchange students make sense out of it when I had never been there before myself. Even more humbling was watching them get used to it quicker than I did!

at. You are blessed have to chance to go back a visit. If I visit my birth place I don't have to leave the country, just go to Washington D.C. Great read!

Interesting to see this from the eyes of another country although it might seem the same to me coming from more laid back areas of the U.S.
