I like this.

I am currently "dating" my ex-husband.  We have a lot of history and a lot of love behind us.  Looking at it now, there are things we are doing differently this time that probably could have saved the marriage before it fell apart.

I have come to learn that sometimes you have to tear it all down so you can put it back together but in a more solid way.

I totally agree it takes work in relationships! Young people want to live in bliss and may not grasp it all the first time around! Compelling thoughts, too! sam

wiley

my dear friend,

Marriage is difficult and sometimes impossible.  It isn't possible here on a few lines to put a whole relationship under a microscope.  I hope I didn't simplify it too much.  I was married before I met Jim for 3 years and it was a disaster. That marriage was not savable.  He destroyed who I was as a person.  His critical  nature was devastating.  I don't talk about those days much; it's still too painful.  I am just thankful that I've had over 30 years now with Jim.

much love,

poet

Being single I reallye enjoyed reading your insight. Given the people I know in relationships in marriage where things are not going well I wonder how much they kept what I find to be your wise words in mind.

I'm just happy that it all worked out and I shall restrain myself and not debate that issue. LOL
