Yes, our Parents can be gone for many years but we never forget.......Mother was 81 when she died but twenty years later I still think about her so often.

It's amazing how the placed we have grown to love have changed. My area has changed so much in the twenty years that I have lived there. The changes seem to be getting faster and faster...

I'm thinking how happy you all would have been if your mom could have
picked a few of those magic tomatoes and made brownies...

Kabu how nice to remember your Mums birthday My sister always reminds me when my Mum's is due, but I always take flowers or a pot every fortnight. Once tobacco plants were not allowed here and I planted about thirty in full view of the road. They grew and grew and one day a police man came to the door about some other thing. He stood staring at the plants so that evening I pulled them all  up and stood them round the back. I eventually made tobacco and bravely smoked some of it a sort of burnt rag and cardboard smell your story reminded me.

we have those still here, they dont go pick the fruit but they are on the side of the roads selling baskets of fruits, veggies and lovely flowers.  I remember as a kid we had walnut trees all over and we use to go pick walnuts, some things dont change

Firstly a happy 101st Birthday to your mom, and this Day you have so aptly chosen to write your memoirs of her. Yes, perseverance pays

How funny. Your Mom was no dummy. She knew those were quaint tomato plants. Wow!
