You are so right! No wonder Afghan farmers grow opium poppies - ti's the only way they can survive. If we gave them more and made their lives more equal, perhaps the terrible devastation that drugs cause in our country would cease.

Ciel, what a wonderful job you have done here at writing this post.
I am one of those who is pretty dang ignorant about what is going on in that place
and I appreciate the effort you have gone to to educate me a bit.

I wish they'd find a way to make peace with their neighbors,
so all the men could come home and the women wouldn't have to sleep with one eye open, and the children could just play, and go to school. In fact, I wish this was the case everywhere.
