Great metaphore... Because I both love to dive from boards into pools or from trrs into rivers and lakes... and have also lost a loved one... I do see the similarity between the two... the feeling of being breathless... one's chest wanting to explode.... the confusion at not finding bottom... and feverishly trying to swim out of what seems a bottomless descent into darkness... Excellent concept!
