as 'admiration from afar' ~ This is so good - imagery and thought.  CC you are a great writer in all genres, and it's good to read your shared talent here.  E.E.

Re: Shobana

I did not out-do your poem I stole with a fiendish delight the sultry energy of your poem.

The fire estinguisher my constant companion, well besides the Fan and the plastic curtains, but I don't think that I should elaborate on those, I wonder if they will need washing? Oh, dear you ladies are always making more work.

Re: Sam

Well I've never heard of wanting the money up front, we just help ourselves and pay inside.

I suppose it would be a difficult for us tear off without paying, we haven't got much of a get away. I don't use my car much these days but it still takes approx. 50 dollars in your money to top it up and it is all going up again. One has to get up early to get a parking place and 90 years ago sheep were being driven up the main street. Old regulars are met with friendlier greetings as they are being replaced by new tenants and security cameras.

Where's my damned horse got to, it never feels safe riding a bicycle, although people are doing so more now it has become a trend, save the planet.  Be lucky Sam

Kabu you are making me curl up into a little ball of Gnome-ness, I would prefer bit harsher treatment from you, I just want to be a little magic mushroom that you can nibble.

Re: stranger - revisited
The camera hangs monitoring the Mall perhaps you don't have them Bob or you are so honest that you did not realize Big Brother was watching. Glad to see you back, I suppose you didn't bring Hot Lips.

So true: Sacrifices must be made to enable a true commitment to last. And the end is a reality check of a sort! Thank you so much for your visits! I have been off reading for some time now! I will catch up as soon as I can! My daughter came to see me today and she ran me ragged! She is a hair stylist and she had to get scissors sharpened, and buy a blow dryer and get dress pants for work and on and on! But the most comical thing of the day was at the gas station. They have a booth and one can pay utility bills there! Also the filling stations in my town require payment up front and then they set the pump! My daughter was going to purchase $20.00! At one point the pump comes on and I begin filling the tank. I think it is going to stop at $20.00!  But it keeps going and I thought she had changed her mind, but it was suspicious since she only had the 20. At thirty dollars I am getting real nervous! She comes out of the station with the twenty in her hand and asks me what I am doing! I reiterated that I thought they had turned the pump on. She said no that they told her the pump was in use! By this time I stop it at 32.00! And I said we have to pay for this but I am not sure how it will happen! We discover that they turned the pump on in error and had directed it to fill for $40.00! Inside she says we need to pay and I said you can take the gas back it is not our error and we only have the $20. The attendant makes a phone call, takes my daughter's $20 and sends us on our way! What an ordeal that ended up benefitting her. I wanted to see them siphon it out of these newer models that is impossible for the most part! So how 'bout this little essay! I have missed your work and it was such a treat to read! I will catch up on your posts as soon as I can! sam

stranger - revisited
This is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. The language is very evocative and somehow stirring.

PS - There may be hope for me yet, as a reader of lyric poetry;  I don't quite "get" the security camera, but I love it and don't care!
