I have to grin when I think about the hockey fetish/craze. I am going to have to start following SOME sport more closely; there is just something about that that appeals to me; yet I've never taken the time to 'adopt' a favorite team, or get into a sport...perhaps you've spurred me on. What a fun life!!!

Everyone should have a sport that they love to follow, a team for which to root, compadres to share their interest.  It is a gift of life that some people spurn and never learn the good in it and never really understand the ones who do.

Hi
Thanks for the comment. I am a Southener who loves hockey after I found it. I thought that was something people who lived where it was too cold to go to the bathroom if they were busy playing so they just skated around until they were too tired to care. I learned to jump, scream and all that sort of stuff when we have a Canadian team in Atlanta, GA for a while.

Thanks for asking about my project. I am currently writing the first draft on Blogit. I can't decide to run it as a memoir or make it fiction and loosely base it on my life and have a few twists and turns. It would have a setting of a shrink and I think my session would keep the reader glued. But, in answer, yes, I just need to figure out the final plot as it were. sam

I was tickled pink by that picture of the Canadian girls resting on the ice, 'brewski' in hand - LOL! And even I, as a Torontonian, was a fan of Les Habs once, although I must confess that it happened because my sons were (and are) Leaf fans. But they've had little to cheer about, even less than Montreal fans...

I'm not what you'd call a fan but I was tickled about the
Canadian women's team win. I once had a tee shirt -- history is seldom made by well-behaved women -- that I wore until it was only a few threads.

I am a hockey fan all the day long, too! My team is the Red Wings! They are in dire straits this year, trying to grab the 8th spot! I have never seen a year like this one! But the Canadian women did an awesome job at the Olympics! Whose to judge the celebration! They were contained and within themselves! It is that way in sport when the big one is captured, so the heck with anyone who doesn't like it! I would tell them to lace up the skates and go 5 shifts full on and we'd make it easy on them, they would only have to skate for 35 seconds per shift! Then you would see them grab the champagne, cigars and beer, celebrating the fact they are alive! lmao!!! That was just too funny on the ref/partner yelling for assistance on where to grab you! It's a fight, let it go, lol! sam
