The were very cautious as they paddled around the ice floes, and I certainly wouldn't have attempted it.  The temperature for today, March 1st, is -3 centigrade

TAPS.
We still have lots of snow Taps.  In fact although the river is melting it snowed every day of last week.  Maybe someone is feeding your turkey up for an ulterior motive?  We haven't seen a Canada Goose all winter, and just to show you how friendly we northern Americans are, you have our permission to keep the daft things as turkey peons.

The NaNoWriMo editing isn't proceeding too well, (see 'sandbox').  I keep forgetting to treat it as fun and get myself all wound up about it, but I'll unravel and get it all done by the end of May.

I would think the floes could pose some threats! But the poor creatures do have a ways to go before they are home free to enjoy the Spring! I think we are going to be spoiled early with our temps reaching 60 degrees fahrenheit! Think Spring! sam

We still have a lot of snow that hasn't melted.  Haven't seen any new pretty birds lately, but my ugly, lone, wild turkey has shown her face again after being out of sight for about three weeks.  Someone is feeding her piles of corn and she is definitely getting fatter.  She struts around like she owns the neighborhood and thinks the myriads of Canada geese are peons.

It's a strange world... rivers flowing backwards, earthquakes, etc...
Thank you Johnny Mac for all your comments... I love the way you think. How's your revision on the NaNoWriMo project going?  I hope it's at least as much fun as the first draft in 30 days was.   Write on!
