I've much to catch  up, especially on this blog of yours Corncrake - this poem is so rich - so full of imagery.  I liked the use of elf - and him-self --- clever.  and good for the knight --- saving the whole of the poem.  This is so clever. I enjoyed with tremendous interest.  Elyse
