This is so rich with imagery ---- I know of others that have ingested mushrooms of the near toxic kind but, I like the pure, organic ones --- am a great fan of mushrooms. I like the metaphors and imagery in this Corncrake...of the buttons on the dress, similar and the search for small white buttons, deep in the green meadows? --- this is quite the poem ~ Elyse

LOL NO THEY ARE USUALLY DIFFICULT TO FIND
I used tolove picking mushrooms in Australia but I wouldn't pick themhere....scared of poison.........I made a fool of myself talking baout joining a groupof young people mushrooming in Nothern Aust. once. Ohsays Kabu.....I love mushrooming.........Of course they were talking about magic mushrooms.
not normally seen in the supermarket...perhaps your poem ones are magic.
