Re: 2902
Thanks, but believe me, they're very good - easy to use and totally dedicated to getting you there.  Just relax and listen to the voice prompts.  Take my sister in Idaho, for instance.  She lives in Priest River on a road that exists only in county records - but the damn thing got me there without ever making me once look at the screen!  (I couldn't afford to, the roads were so crazy and windy!).

Marvelous, I've been too intimidated to get one of those sat thingies but you sure wrote so well about it....

Re: my GPS
Thank you!  I like to call this sort of poem "whimsy on steroids" (cf my "Weighty Matters" and "My First Pet Dinosaur"). Yes, in fact I majored in Keats - Long live the lyric!

Re: voice
My God!  It unfolds?  Sounds like a talking alien with a suitcase on its way somewhere.  What "other things" does it do?  I'm glad it's getting better.  I think.

I liked how you used other great poems to fashion this one! A fine poem! sam

Under the pasenger seat of my oldl RAV there is a box like a suit case it is connected to another contraption that slowly unfolds. It speaks and does other things, but I set it for home once and forgot it. It is getting better Bob.

Re:sonnet worthy
Thank you.  The idea came up when I was joking around with my bro-in-law Lee (cf "Eye for Incongruity") who, well. has en eye for such things.

Re: Voice Onea
Funny how we have to name things!  We call ours Gladys.   "Gwendolyn"  just seemed funnier for purposes of the poem.

LOL, I love this ~ you're so clever and by jiminy this poem is sonnet worthy.  Truly a great one  --- (mine got stolen)   Elyse

Voice Onea
I named mine Lizzy for I'm lost without her devoted ability to get me around and her never ending directions to where I need to be. (It's A Girl)  Nice electronic mechanisms we need.  Lost and Found Voice One  Fema

Re: I keep giving these things the eye when ever I go to Best Buy
Your clever rhyme came just in time to make me ask Who is it?  And then I saw friend Pat had paid an always welcome visit!

I keep giving these things the eye when ever I go to Best Buy
but since I never go anywhere much, I look, but seldom touch.

Re: great humour I like it...we don't have one of those...we thik it would take
I think you'd be surprised - I'm an idiot with electronic things, but it's genuinely user-friendly.  Real-estate agents and salesmen must find them invaluable! PS We're busy getting really snowed in!  PPS Another thing I liked about Australia is Men At Work and my old guitar teacher.

the length of the trip for us to set the thing right.......then probably find ourselves back in our own garage.
