Re: This is reality told in style!
Thank you!  You picked up on an important point when you mentioned style.  I'm unusualy satisfied with this piece because it started out awkwardly rhymed, with clunky tortured syntax and headed for five stanzas.  It was too wonderful an idea to present like that, so I kept on tweaking, shifting and discarding until it sounded natural - almost like prose only better.

She tended to be quiet, blending into family get-togethers, content to listen.  You never know.  Thanks for your visit!

Re: Re: Aunt Peg
Yeah, well, we all agreed that anyone at the wedding who said, "How cute!"  would get thrown out!  Peg was hard of hearing, but she'd catch a lot of stuff she wasn't supposed to.

Why mess around with Mr. Not Quite when life's so short?
Still, they were brave enough to take the marriage plunge. I'm not sure I could dive into it again.

Re: Aunt Peg
and what a riot --- she found him too immature - oh my goodness but Aunt Peg had life pegged.  ~ She knew what she wanted.  How adorable. Elyse

Aunt Peg
A true story!  I haven't even changed the names to protect the innocent.  And here's a good one - the marriage didn't last because - get this! -she found him too immature!
