Excellent post! I actually have the opposite problem, I find myself apologizing too often sometimes, especially in an uncomfortable situation. I think your post is equally helpful for this, as it offers an alternative to over-apologizing as well.

So you gave a demo at the end of how the apology can be done?
Let me try it? Say you don't like this comment of mine...So I say, "Thank you for bringing your dislike for such comments to my notice. I shall be more sensitive next time."
