FSI, good thing, like Wiley says, you had your wits about you...
I've seen those "backup" accidents and the damages they can do...its like a rear end accident in reverse....

So many folks on the road are so into what they are doing or want to do they are less than cautious! I have seen people pull out in front of the vehicle I have been in with no one behind to get on the road! I think we have become a very impatient society! Glad the horn made a difference, who needs a car in the shop due to someone else's hurriedness! sam

FSI, you drive defensively and this is good and in fact great since you received no harm; but it is maddening how horribly dangerous I find a great deal of drivers are out there. Stay safe and drive defensively always, Elyse

We almost had an accident in Florida.
Whew! The guy in front of me got out and started swearing at me in Spanish. All I could do was put my hands out and say "I'm sorry!" -- shaking my head slowly from side to side. He calmed down, thank goodness. Nobody hit anybody else, so I was wondering why he was getting out of his car 'til I saw how angry he was. I could only think, "I did the best I could do, and aren't you glad nobody hit anybody?"
