Environmental activist.
Thanks for your visits and comments. Like everything else in this world it's neither completely black or completely white. There are many dog-owners here who remember to clear up after their dogs and luckily there are still quite a few that do no throw their rubbish around. However there's plenty of room for improvement.

I feel disgusted when I see garbage thrown.I liveon a roaqd with such a
lovely name yet who locally cares about beauty. I can fill a garbage bag of thrown away junk just out around our entrance way. and it is no better in Australia.

I hate seeing litter on the ground. Our car washes get inundated with it. I could make picking it up my full-time job.

Naut is busted, but I agree with him! lol There are huge fines for littering in my state! It is just common sense to pick up after one's self! I have an inherent distaste for those who mar the landscape! I  recycle and encourage those around me to do so! Shelly

I have always heard of Copenhagen's 'cleanliness' ~ I admire their esteem for the earth - I admire the many ways they, I'm told can recycle - Ah ~ and as I toss bags upon bags, daily of trash - I simply would love to devote some time and energy to learning how to recycle - it will come to me one day Elyse thanks you for this blog and those neat pics ~ xoxox

Elinjo

I found on my travels that here in North America we tend to be more litter-conscious than you Europeans. I can honestly say that all of Canada is very clean, and I've seen most of it. And that also applies to the parts of the US I know, with the possible exception of Detroit...(I hope there's nobody from Detroit within earshot, lol...)

When I take my doggie for his early-morning romp in the park, I pick up his 'droppings' in a plastic bag and that 'package' ends up in one of the many bins found there - everybody here does that. And if I find the odd piece of litter, I engage in my own bit of 'activism' and pick it up as well, but there never is much. (Of course, I won't pick up after my dog when I take him into the woods, especially since he never does his business right on the trail, but in the bushes...)

But what I've seen in parts of Holland, France and Germany - well, let's just say there's a lot of room for improvement...

Re:recycling - Troosha.
It's very irritating isn't it? This is one of the environmental problems that individuals really can do something about. Thanks for visiting.

Re: trash
I wanted to let you read an article about our track record; unfortunately the link has disappeared. Sorry to destroy your illusions, but like so many other things, there is a gap between theory and practice.

In our own home we’re so diligent about recycling and tending to any garbage in an environmentally friendly way so it drives me nuts when I into the inner city and see litter all over the place.  It takes but a moment to use a recycle bin or garbage can – both of which are provided just about everywhere.

A very good post. I hope we just dont talk, but do something about our environment.

Elin- I'm very surprised about the trash there - I thought Copenhagen was such a clean, eco-minded city!  Mal

There's this squirrel who brings his lunch up to the porch rails
at the back of the house. He chomps and nibbles and makes crumbs and leaves the hulls and trash behind. During walnut season when the nuts are dropping from the trees, he'll leave all the steps littered with piles of hulls, and walnut hulls stain the wood. He's a dumb animal, a careless litterbug -- like transit riders and drivers -- any folks who don't have ownership.

Re:
I find it mind-boggling too Shobana. Sometimes I wonder, whether people are just as slovenly in their own homes.  Thanks for visiting. Have a good journey.

Betty, with all the advances man has made..I don't know why cleanliness always takes a tumble with some. I think it's great you even take photos. Have a lovely day.
