RSM, you really don't know what is happening around you
Korea and Iran both started their big push while Bush was STILL IN OFFICE.  Why?  Because they knew Bush couldn't do a damn thing because he screwed up so badly with Iraq, while still stuck dealing with Afghanistan.  It has NOTHING to do with Obama who was not even a presidential candidate when they started their current aggressive behavior. It is just a another bunch of crap that Bush started and now has to be cleaned up by Obama.

And I wish you understood US law. The President can just go and declare military action with the approval of Congress. That is suppose to stop people like Bush from getting too out of control.  Clinton did not have the approval from Congress to go after Osama, becasue all the Republicans were saying he was not a threat, becasue our Republican controlled congress at the time was much more concerned with trying to bring Clinton down becasue he couldn't keep his pants up than with keeping this country safe.  If your guys would have had their priorities straight back then, 9/11 might never have happened.

Re: Redstatesman
lady, RSM is threatening with actual Hell for my son, Kooka, after death because he supports Obama.  If you support what RSM supports, you are going to Heaven.

RSM is indeed rewriting history, not Kooka.  It is common knowledge that, with the military action in Iraq, our forces were spread too thin and we would not be able to engage in military action anywhere else in the world.  The Bush Administration has tried to hide that from us, but couldn't.  What with the unprecedented multiple tours of duty that have cause unprecedented mental problems with our soldiers -- and with the calling up of National Guard units who weren't prepared to engage as regular military units are (most of them were in for education benefits or for the extra pay that they couldn't get in a mainly  depressed economy), it's obvious that we didn't really have forces sufficient even for that expedition.  China could have invaded Taiwan and the U.S. couldn't have done nothing about it.

U.S. could have tried to take military action against either N. Korea or Iran and probably lost grossly.

But military action doesn't solve the problem, it only continues and perpetuates the problem.  This situation is only the tail end of millennium old wars between European powers that happened to spill over into imperialism and unnatural setting of boundaries by said powers.  Each act of violence doesn't end the violence; it causes retributive violence (i.e., the decades-old Israeli/Palestinian conflict with no end in sight).  Without addressing the causes of people's resorting to violence, the violence WILL NOT END.

Take Iran, for instance.  There are two major motivating factors behind their hostility to the U.S.  One is our support of Israel.  The impression of the entire Arab is that the State of Israel is basically an illegal state, set up on Arab land, stealing Arab territory, thus the multiple wars involving Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and the Lebanon situation.  The,e second was U.S. support of the Shah of Iran, whose repressive policies reportedly equalled that of Saddam Hussein. and CIA training of his "goon squads", comparable to the USSR's KGB. Naturally, there would be enmity.

And why would Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda attack the World Trade Center?  Not because they "hate Democracy" as Herr Bush stated, but because of the world situation, where, as in our own United States, less than 10% of the population controls about 90% of the wealth and billions of pepole live in poverty throughout the world.

And their acts of violence (Palestinians and Al Qaeda) are prime examples of where violence doesn't solve problems, but leads to retributive violence.  And the retributive violence leads to retributive violence.

This isn't like wars of the past, or even the Cold War.  This is different, and different solutions need to be considered.

Be careful? Are you threatening people on MY blog?  Read history, not the watered down version your 7th grade teacher taught but the real deal.  While we are talking about history-where did Hussein get any "wmd"?  Think RSM you can do it..........come on.......thats right! Reagan :)

Re: RSM, rewriitng history yet agian I see

How did I know that liberal spin crap was coming...lol! You are so predictable. So it was not clinton's decision? You complained that Bush ignored congress and started the war now you say clinton could not...lol...you so funny boy!

Yeah, let's see how your boy's timetables work. The enemy is in it for 100 years but your boy is in it for a year??? Yeah, the reason why Iran and Korea are starting things because they know we have a soft piece of liberal crap in the White House. Seems to me you have no idea at all of what nations are invloved in the threat against us. None at all.

Just be very careful on this website of what you say because it is being noted and one day there will be hell to pay when you have nowhere to spin it. That day is coming.

RSM, rewriitng history yet agian I see
Clinton wanted to go after Osama, but a Republican congress said he was no threat and that we should focus our efforts elsewhere.  So it is you side who 'just sat back and let evil take over'.

And stop getting so up set when people blame Bush for what Bush is guilty of doing.  If Bush would have done his job right and NOT gotten us involved in Iraq, there is a real good chance we would have dealt with Osama by now.  Only s truly sad leader starts a second war for no good reason when the first war is not even close to being over.  And of course you guys were busy trying to get a third and forth one started before we were done in the other two.  I mean do you cosnervative really think it makes any sense at all to keep invading country after country without actually finishing up in the last country first?  It is not at all surprising that Iran and Korea are pushing things right now.  They know our forces are spread too thin and that gives them the chance to get away with a lot more.  Thankfully Obama has put out time tables and is making real plans to finish up the messes Bush started and get our forces o the point where we actually look like we could respond to a real threat.

I had read they were very close to getting him as well! It would be nice to capture him and alive so that questions can be answered! I seriously doubt he would allow himself to be taken alive, though! sam

Long Post There!

With war and peace now written again, I want to know if you were born in 2001? I fully well understand that you have been programmed to blame Bush for everything for the rest of eternity but you must do your research on this website. You need to go back and research when your boy slick willie billy worthless clinton had osama in his sights and only needed to make the command but did not, even though he knew that osama was the most wanted terrorist of all. I do believe that would have saved many lives since it was before 2001. So put together some more weak spin and let me know why clinton did not take the opportunity.

Nice spin job there! Why do you want boy wonder obama to get him? I am confused! Why don't you just want us to sit down and talk with him and just get along?

See how pathetic your liberalism is and always has been. Just sit back and let evil take over. Try to get somewhat of a backbone then call at that point okay? The evil is in it forever to defeat us while you and your community organizer obama thinks we can set a time table on a war like this; not to mention the fact that the middle east has hated us for a long time. I remember back in the 60's they were burning our flag yet you seem to think it is all Bush's fault. WAKE UP GIRL!
