Love the Christmas spirit glowing in this post, Elinjo. It is such a special time of year, and so nice to know that many around the world are sharing it together.

We really don't do much in the States when it comes to advent other than the few who have one of those small boxes where candy is pulled out once a day.

Re: Christmas trees in Denmark. Taps
They put real candles on trees here and light them too! The first time I saw this for myself, I was convinced that the house would burn down!  But it didn't!

Hmmmm...we can't dance around the Christmas tree here because I have never set on up in the middle of a room.  I always put it in the corner or a spot against a wall.

I like the idea of the Advent calendar - and my daughter always wanted us to share this - because she wanted daily gifts.   ~ so, now that she's older (24) --- she still to this day wants the Advent calendar but, then she realized, gifts come year 'round - so it really isn't all that important and knowing us we'd forget to look at the calendar daily.  LOL...I do simply adore this tradition.  and Midnight Mass will yes come to me, and my daughter, a tradition we share.  It's what we look forward to - our night together bringing in the birth celebration of Christ - I love this blog Elinjo ~ add such culture to my daily Texas life. I liked the dancing around the tree, what a cool tradition! I just got mine out yesterday and I have to determine where I am going to put it! My daughter is coming tomorrow and I know she will have a thought or two, lol! Have a great day and please pray the President has a great strategy for getting this Afghanistan thing over and all soldiers come home! Shelly

It seems very comforting and well-planned.
And not just empty tinsel and bling.
