The 40's is warm for where I'm living now. But, 40's with wind= COLD.  Personally, I like the 80's better!

Scraping Paint in 45 Degree Weather
can be very cold, especially when it is threatening to rain at the same time, and windy. A couple days ago, though, I found that with two sweatshirts I was too cold, but I added a windbreaker and that did the trick nicely.

Ah yes, we live and learn but I'm glad to hear that you did not have to weather the briskness for too long --- with breaks inside that is.  I always think of those that have to work outdoors...and even ask the grocer's sacker to not walk me to my car, but they always do and I feel so badly for them.  No sense in both of us getting cold and they do their job sacking - but that's me FSI ~ The cold is coming in - even here in Texas; stay warm. FSI
You call a temperature in the forties 'incredibly cold'? We Canadians are laughing our butts off when we hear that...

Oooooo

Yes the chill winds have arrived.

I have all the winter stock ready. Thermals, an extra coat ready everywhere. Once in the office, one in car, one here and one there. Cant stay without them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,

Amy

I would stash a coat as well. The wind just rips through my desert, too! It is howling right now and like you I find plenty to keep me busy inside, too! sam

Very uncomfortable working conditions! Poor you! Thermal underwear is a good investment. Have a nice day.
