i think it's tough at any age but the best lesson i learned was not to

over-deliver. I taught university classes and the year i started i had four classes - from no teaching experience to 4 classes.  Terrifying. 

After a while I learned it was best to try and do less. I had a lesson plan that i loosely stuck to, but became very good at having them do stuff, and then comment on each others. OK, I know these are little kids but the over-delivery is important to crack. Otherwise it overwhelms you, and them.
