I remember reading this already, and still liked it the second time around. I actually enjoy racing...the deafening sound of the motors, the dust, the heat floating all around...and the excitement!!! I used to attend 'hot rod' races, and loved it! And your lady with good money coming in to boot! Nothing wrong with that.

Muley12 - this sounds like lots of fun..and well it does keep the cash coming in. Seems like Santa's  everywhere even if it is a bit early for Christmas.

Keep rednecks, pythons, gators & tropical diseases, down south please, Pal!
Mikey,
I share your opinion on the entertainment value of watching cars drive around in a great big circle, HUNDREDS of times. Usually, I'd rather watch grass grow, television golfing, tennis, bowling, curling, cricket, or somebody else catching fish. Mystifying, this NASCAR appeal, isn't it?
I wonder if there is some unnamed (NASCAR?) pathogen, one that strikes mostly southern rednecks, causing me to postulate that this pathogen cannot survive well, above the thirty-fifth parallel, kinda like malaria. I just posted a copy of redneck rumor, or humor, that my friend Dave just sent me. Rednecks are such fertile sources of writing material, aren't they? Good thing too, because since HRH Bush II is wisely staying out of sight, we needed a replacement for him, as a muse stimulant. Writer's block is a terrible thing to experience, and must be miserable to live with, I imagine.
