Betty, a bicycle would make a wonderful Christmas gift and Christmas is getting way to commercialized these days I feel. Loved the photos and the danish pastries look good.

I know it is tough on retailers but I refuse to incur additional debt when the holiday has a more significant meaning to me than material gifts! Have a great weekend! The danishes looked scrumptious! Shelly

I love Christmas
and though a local pub was advertising Christmas lunch menus back in August (!) I do like the run up to these happy days, especially as they are soon gone again for another year

I guess its happening all over the world as people try to make a good Christmas even with the situations the way they are.

Yes Elinjo Christmas is so closely upon us and I simply have kept focus on Thanksgiving...one day at a time is my mantra here lately.  I so enjoy the festivities and decorum this time of year.  I simply get amazed at some of the displays and I enjoyed my little trek with your photos reminding me that yes, conspicuous consumption is something to be learned in.  This year I've taken great strides in asking each of my children and for the grandchildren to come to me with One absolute gift they 'need' this year ~ elsewise I'd be out there consuming with the consumers with great passion.  I've had to learn over the years to cutback ~ Thank you for your lovely blog here. I enjoy Elyse

I've been crocheting hats & scarves and bookmarks
and buying weird interesting little things for a couple months. Fighting the Bah! Humbug! spirit that usually grabs me this time of year. I'm so old and out of it, I know the kids are interested in the latest buzzing beeping shiny visual thing-a-ma-jig, and I only give them boring old printed books on paper. They should cheer up, already. At least I don't give them socks.
