Naut, thanks--
I'd rather be an oasis in a desert, an island in a swamp, a signpost in the wilderness than a constant wayfarer. I like swamps and deserts and bleak mountaintops... as long as I have some bubble of a place in the midst, to shut out all the wonderfulness of it...

TAPS, with friends like you in my cheering section,
I know I can do this.
I know also that you know plenty of doors, keys, etc.

I feel for you! I have known that place, though in my case it wasn't a swamp, it was a desert...But I found oases, or maybe created them, in the same way in which I helped create the desert...

Whatever it is you have to decide, you can pull it off and come through on the other side, a winner.

Re: You sound miserable and confused wanting to leave but afraid.
Kabu, I know you know this place... and I salute you for making the plunge, and leaping through that door!
I have to add to all this, that this is what's on my plate at the moment--but I never forget for a moment how very lucky I am in so many areas of life, so blessed! Just this one... I have dawdled far too long.

That's a nice quote of Richard Bach you ended with
