Re: Malcolm
We usually 'inherit' your cast-off weather, Malcolm! LOL. My brother sends me mails warning me of the doubtful pleasures to come. THanks for visiting. May the sun shine for you this weekend!

Re: Kabu
Did we solve the world's problems? Not at all! However it's healthy to let off steam to friends, so that solved one of our problems.  Thanks for visiting.

How awful and scary it is sometimes I can imagine getting caught in that turmoil of a weather Betty. Glad your friend made it back safely and you too. If ever the world's problems are solved that would be the day we can walk in between raindrops ..(something my best friend and I always say..).

What a terrible experience for you and your friend. You must have
been thankful to get that phone call that she was home. So did you solve the troubles of the world?

I'm glad your friend made it home safely. I made the mistake last year of driving in snow and nice and nearly got into an accident. Luckily nothing happened.

Good to know you're safe
It was windy in eastern England today but bright. Funnily enough, I had expected it to be stronger nearer to the coast but it was gentle in comparison with Cambridgeshire

Re: warnings and images.
You see, I did not hear the weather forecast, so I was not prepared. I borrowed the images from photobucket, because they seemed appropriate in a way. Thanks for visiting.

What a wind blowing over...
Wow, good to hear that you and your friend made it through the storm.

And the video (or what it is) you placed at your entry shows that it was really tough.

I wish you a wonderful day (without a storm I hope) :-)

I was blocked by a mountain mudslide in rainy season in Oregon once between the coast and Portland.  I had to go a very long way around and what should have been a 2-hour trip turned in to an all day affair.

Very brave of you to venture out despite the warning. The images convey it all!

As always a great write.
Betty, does it again. I'm glad your friend made it home without being swept away.

Sometimes a little storm can be exciting, a light show.
But big bad wind and driving rain are not fun. You're right that we're dependent on the whims of nature.

Re: desert

Thanks for visiting Shelly. The only desert I've ever visited was the Negev in Israel and there was a cloudburst that day!

Re. the anniversary; yes, painful story, but life would be very dull without the ups and downs. However, I might well write it and get it out of my system.

I hope your computer problems are past history now too. Have a nice day.

That is why I moved to the desert! I do not like hazardous weather! Sounds comical coming from the desert, though! The weather is truly mild enough! I am so sorry I missed the post on your daughter's birthday! How fun to have lunch! Mine lives too far away and I miss that! I am very relieved that you both make the treks without incident! I am sending my heartfelt blessings for safety and happiness! The other story regarding the anniversary, it sounded a bit painful in the tone of your words. I hope you are at peace with it! Shelly
